Wednesday!!

So today is our anniversary and Mike and I decided to do something special. We have a reservation for 5 at the Keg and then we are heading off to see inception. Mike's mom is coming to babysit for Hannah while we are out spending time with each other.
This morning I decided to play a little dress up with Hannah. I found two outfits that I had worn when I was a baby so I thought I would try them on her and take a picture. The pink outfit was a little snug and she did not really like it. The picture of her in the duck shirt and brown pants is what she is wearing today!

New people to meet!!!

Yesterday we went to Boissevain for supper. Mike's grandma, aunt Val and cousins Alex and Dixon were out and they had not seen Hannah in person. Grandma made a wonderful supper of Cheelcha (not sure if I spelt that right), smontfat and sausage. It was so good!!! We all had a good time!

Monday!!!

So we took Hannah to church yesterday even though she had proved to be quite grumpy in the morning. I think it was the best thing we could have done. She slept through the whole service (with some rocking of the car seat)! Then we went out for lunch with some friends and she slept all through lunch. She started to wake up just as we were finishing lunch so we sped home and fed her before she got to angry. Then all afternoon she was only awake long enough to eat and then she went right back to sleep without having to be rocked or have to sit in her swing. It was a great afternoon of hanging out with friends and being able to actually visit without having to console a crying baby. She slept her usual hours at night so my guess is she really needed sleep. Today has been fairly good. She has been awake for a good amount of time but she has also had a really good nap. I am hoping that she will nap long enough for me to get some baking done this afternoon. I was also thinking that I might pack her into the stroller and walk to the mall and mail some letters that I have sitting here on my table.
Today is my day to make some cold calls for pampered chef. I am quite nervous about it cause I don't like talking to people I don't know and asking them to have a cooking show in their house. First of all, I don't really like doing the cooking shows. I just wish I had people calling me asking me to put in orders for them so that I could just sit here at home and put the orders in. Oh well, I will just have to suck it up and do it. We could use a little extra money around here so here I go...

Oh so tired!!!

Ok so today is Sunday and my baby has not had a great start to her day. I am not sure if I ate something that did not agree with her stomach or if she is growing and has some growing pains, but she sure can scream. I fed her, changed her, rubbed her back and her stomach. I let her lay skin to skin, gave her gripe water, put her in the swing, layed her in the play pen with the vibrator and nothing seemed to work. By the time she was into a full forced angry scream it had been 1 and a1/2 hours since I fed her last so I fed her again while I was eating breakfast at the table. She fell asleep while I was feeding her so I just left her laying on the table. I know I can here it now " you left her on the table unsupervised??? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING????" Well, I am thinking that when my baby is happy then I am happy so if she is content to lay on the table I will leave her there. I am not a bad mom, just a very tired mom!!! As I write this I can hear her making happy noises while she listens to the dishwasher run! OH the sounds of contentment. Well, it is almost time to go give her a bath and get her dressed for church!!

Wow time is flying by!! On Tuesday our baby was one month old and growing like a weed. I can't believe how big she is already. We went to public health on Tuesday to weigh her and she was 9lbs 12ozs. She is super long and starting to develop quite a large double chin. I don't think we need to worry about her gaining weight, she has that part under control. She loves her baths and she loves her new swing. We found a swing on Portage online and bought it for $80. It is pretty much brand new and it is a $200 swing. I love finding good deals. Hannah has started to fight sleep and screams until we finally convince her that sleeping is a good idea! It takes a bit and is draining for both of us but we are working on it.
I start back to school next weekend and I am not really looking forward to it. I have gotten used to sleeping in for however long I want and just hanging out on the couch but now I will actually have to get up early and sit in class and pay attention. This should be interesting! My wonderful sister is coming along to sit with Hannah while I am in class!!! Hopefully Hannah is good for her or she may never volunteer again. So if anyone else is reading this other than Chris and you are available on a weekend to come sit with Hannah while I am in class please let me know.
Also, if you are reading this please leave a little note so that I know that someone is reading my blogs and that it is actually worth updating them!!

A Lot of Changes!!!

Ok so I have decided that it is time to update my blog. I thought of this all on my own with no nagging from my sister Christine!!!

There have been a lot of changes to our family in the last couple months. I will try to break them down for you in this post.

On June 18th we moved into a new house. We now live in a bi level home with an unfinished basement. The plan is to finish the basement ourselves. There are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom on the main floor. We plan on adding one more room in the basement as well as a laundry room, bathroom and rec room.

On July 13th we were blessed with the birth of our beautiful baby girl Hannah Elizabeth Peters. She was born at 11:59 am. She was 8lbs 12ozs 20 3/4 inches long. We had quite a few visitors come that day to see her. Hannah was tested for jaundice on Wednesday and had to spend all of thursday and thursday night under the light. She hated it and I could not stand to see her cry and not be able to do anything about it. So my wonderful sisters came in and kept me company and brought me ice cream. We were finally able to bring our beautiful baby girl home on July 16th at 7 pm. We had some friends come over that evening to bring me a birthday cake and celebrate my birthday.

Things have been going really well for Hannah and myself. Hannah sleeps approximately 5-7 hours a night and really only cries when she needs something. We are so blessed!!
